As we head into winter break, Alta Loma Junior High is proud to partner once again with Warrior for Children to support their annual “Gift the Joy” Toy Drive.

All this week (December 15–19), our Warrior community will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts to support children and teens navigating trauma in our surrounding communities, including San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties. Warrior for Children is on track to serve more than 3,000 children this year, and your generosity makes that possible.

A Special Focus on Teens
This year, there is a significant need for items geared toward teens, an age group that is often overlooked during toy drives. As a junior high campus, we have a unique opportunity to help meet that need. Items such as earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, art kits, self-care items, gift cards, and other age-appropriate favorites are especially appreciated—many of the same things our own students love.

🧸 How to Participate

  • Donate new, unwrapped toys or gifts

  • Drop items off in the school office or at the front gate

  • Collection dates: December 15–19

  • Prefer to shop online? Use the QR codes on the attached flyer to shop directly from Warrior for Children’s wish lists

Additional details, including in-demand items and QR codes for wish lists, can be found on the attached flyer. Thank you for continuing to show up for others with generosity, compassion, and Warrior PRIDE. Together, we can help bring joy, comfort, and hope to children and teens in our community this holiday season.

With gratitude,
Alta Loma Junior High School

Good Evening, Alta Loma Junior High Families,

We want to share a few important updates related to grades and recognition for student achievement in the months ahead.

Progress Reports
The first Progress Report will be posted in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal on Friday, September 5th at approximately 4:00 PM. To view it, simply log in at
bit.ly/aljhportal and click on the Documents link in the sidebar menu.

Honor Roll Update
Our Honor Roll criteria has been updated, and we want families to be aware now as students work toward their semester goals. Honor Roll is determined at the end of each semester based on final semester grades and citizenship:

  • Honor Roll: Semester GPA of 3.5–3.99, with no C’s, D’s, F’s, N’s, or U’s

  • Principal’s Honor Roll: Semester GPA of 4.0 and above, with no C’s, D’s, F’s, N’s, or U’s

End-of-Year Awards Criteria Reminder
Looking ahead to spring, we also want to clarify the criteria for our ALJH Citizenship and ALJH Scholar Awards, which are based on grades earned each quarter. By sharing this early, we hope to give students the opportunity to set goals now and stay on track throughout the year.

  • ALJH Citizenship Award: Outstanding citizenship in at least five classes, with no D’s or F’s in the first three quarters.

  • ALJH Scholar Award: GPA of 3.75 or higher, calculated from posted quarter grades (not the semester transcript GPA), with no C’s, D’s, or F’s in the first three quarters.

Please note: Honor Roll is determined by semester GPAs, while end-of-year awards use GPAs calculated from quarter grades. This means the GPA used for award eligibility may not always match the cumulative GPA shown on a transcript.

If you have any questions, please call our office at 909-484-5100.

Thank you,
Alta Loma Junior High

A late post, but a GREAT post! On Thursday last week, we had the honor and privilege to welcome Alta Loma Junior High’s newest Warriors, our inaugural group, the VERY FIRST group of 6th graders to ever attend Glimpse at THE Alta Loma Junior High! 💙💥 It was powerful, truly an amazing moment. In addition to our 6th grade students, our group of 6th grade teachers joined in on the fun, getting to know our students and school. This was a monumental moment in ALJH & ALSD history. We are excited to begin this journey and have our newest Warriors join us and we look forward to welcoming them on campus in the fall. It’s going to be great!

It was such a great morning visiting several of our school sites and depts. with President Rebecca Davies, and Trustees Brad Buller and Dr. Malinda Hurley. It is always wonderful to meet and greet with our extraordinary staff members, break bread and sip coffee with them, and just enjoy one another’s company. We are truly blessed to serve such a wonderful educational environment. We are looking forward to visiting many more sites tomorrow! ❤️
